It’s just a ride
New party trick: my hands are two different sizes!
I got bit my a dog today, and my right hand is all swole up. Nevertheless, things are looking up, my friends. My job is aaaamazing. I got through training with flying colors. My only post-training criticism so far has been that I don’t mop emphatically enough. Hmm. I love the people I work with, though, mostly because they tolerated me telling bad pirate jokes over the radio all day today, in honor of International Talk Like A Pirate Day. By the way, a happy one to ye, mateys. Arrrrr. I’m turning into my mother.
Yesterday I found a roommate. Let’s just hope she holds out until the end of the process, or I will be completely screwed. I’ll worry about that next week. I can always sell my body… or have people pay to cuddle my kittens. Speaking of, one is perched in the crook of my arm right now. It’s good they’re cute, to balance out the crazy. Also I think they might hate me in another week, as potential roommate is bringing a THIRD cat to the house. Aka, the teeny tiny apartment. Lord.
In other news, my outlook on life has improved dramatically since Sunday. I have church to thank, actually. It was an amazing service. It was Yom Kippur themed, I practiced getting rid of my least favorite quality about myself (jealousy – perhaps the topic of another post), and the choir (including moi) and our amazing director actually got a congregation of stuffy white Unitarians to stand up, dance, and clap. Holler.
This is a good Yom Kippur. My dad said god would probably forgive me if I couldn’t forgive everyone I needed to, 4 weeks after the shit hit the fan. But it’s me I’m doing this for, not god. I forgave one person, face to face, and got a hug, and it was amazingly relieving. The other, I’m not so sure about. But I have 3 more days to figure it all out.
Things are looking up.
I have a few admirers at work. It would be great if they were human ones, but the canine ones are pretty damn cute. They cry when I leave the room. Feels good to be popular.
